Konstantin Andreopoulos has been nominated to the Board of Directors of the London-based European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) by the European Investment Bank (EIB), the EU's long-term financing institution, which is a shareholder of the EBRD. Mr Andreopoulos born in Athens, Greece on October 26, 1943, is a member of the bar in Athens and New York and a graduate of the Universities of Athens, Freiburg-im-Breisgau and Yale.

Mr Andreopoulos joined the Bank's Legal Directorate in 1981 and was promoted to Head of Division in 1982.In 1984 he was appointed head of the newly opened EIB's Athens Office. From 1988 to the end of 1994 he returned to Luxembourg as Head of the Division for Lending Operations in Greece and Finland before moving back to the Legal Affairs Directorate as Director (1995) and Deputy General Counsel (1998). In his capacity as Deputy General Counsel, Mr Konstantin Andreopoulos was responsible for all of EIB's lending operations both within and outside the EU.
