The Bank of Slovenia and the European Investment Bank hosted the webinar "Investment and Investment Finance in Slovenia".

The conference focused on investment needs and priorities for Slovenia, bringing together a group of economists, policymakers, as well as representatives from financial institutions and the business community.

After the opening remarks, the results of the EIB Investment Survey for Slovenia were presented, followed by a presentation of the investment situation. A high-level panel followed, focusing on investment dynamics and investment gaps in Slovenia.

The slight positive trend in investment growth in Slovenia, which started in 2016, was revoked by the pandemic. The COVID-19 crisis left investments well below the pre-COVID level and about 40% below levels reached before the global financial crisis. As such, important investment gaps are building up in the country. To identify the key gaps and areas for potential policy intervention, the event combines experts and economists from Slovenia and abroad.
