    Description
    Objectives

The project consists of a loan to finance private sector trade-related investments in Sub-Saharan Africa including at least 25% of climate action projects. These eligible investments would be directly financed by Afreximbank or, in the case of loans to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), through local commercial banks with which the EIB does not maintain a relationship.

This project will improve competitiveness and access to finance at favourable conditions for SMEs and support intra and extra African trade as well as renewable energy and energy efficiency projects. This operation contributes to climate action and to international and regional integration by supporting entrepreneurs and job creation.
