Description
Objectives

Project supporting funding to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and mid-caps in Poland, with a substantial climate action component.

Financing of small/medium projects carried out by SMEs and mid-caps in Poland.

Additionality and Impact

The operation addresses the underlying market failure in access to finance faced by the Polish SMEs and MidCaps due to information asymmetries, which has been further exacerbated by the ongoing pandemics. The project will be implemented by BNP Paribas Leasing Services Sp. z o.o., the main leasing entity of BNP Paribas group in Poland. The group has a strong knowledge in the corporate lending and a solid track record with implementing EIB guarantee and funding products.

The contribution to climate action of 20% is significant and aligned with the EIB's Climate Action Strategy. It also sustains employment in the targeted areas.EIB participation sends a strong signal to the markets that might help crowd in private sector financial intermediaries. Overall, the project can contribute to the development of the Polish financial market and positively stimulate economic recovery
