The project concerns research and development (R&D) activities related to the development of new payment and cash management hardware and software solutions. The R&D activities will be carried out mainly in Germany but also in Spain and in Austria during financial years (ending 30 September) 2013 – 2015.
The new payment and cash management hardware and software solutions are utilised by the banking and retail sector to ensure efficient and secure payment transactions.
The investments concern research, development and innovation (RDI) activities within existing facilities. Therefore it is unlikely that the project will fall under Annex I and II of Directive 2011/92/EC. The full details will be assessed during appraisal.
The promoter is a private company not operating in the utilities sector, and is thus not covered by EU Directives on procurement.

Complaints mechanism
Any complaint regarding alleged maladministration can be lodged via the EIB Complaints Mechanism. The European Ombudsman acts as an independent external accountability mechanism of the EIB.
Zero tolerance against fraud and corruption
