Objectives

The project covers a 3-year investment programme relating to increase of UMTS network coverage and GSM network capacity.

The investments aim at improving the network quality and capacity as well as allowing for advanced mobile data services in Poland.

Environmental aspects
Procurement

The project does not fall under Annex I or II of EIA directive 85/337/EEC, amended by directives 97/11/EC and 2003/35/EC. Mobile networks based on GSM/UMTS technology have limited environmental effects.

According to the new utility directive 2004/17/EC, the Telecom sector is exempted from public procurement procedures. Therefore the purchases of the private promoter operating in the telecommunication sector are no longer regulated.
