Following the resignation of the Prime Minister and the appointment of an interim government, Mr Rumen Porodzanov was appointed Caretaker Minister of Finance of the Republic of Bulgaria, succeeding Mr Petar Chobanov. He also becomes the EIB Governor for the Republic of Bulgaria.
Before this appointment, Mr Porodzanov was since February 2014 Chairman of the Board of the Centre for Strategic Analysis, Financing and EU Funds.
Previously, he served as Executive Director of the State Agriculture Fund between March 2011 and September 2013.
From August 2009 to March 2011 he was Head of the office of the Minister of Finance. From 2001 to 2009, Mr Porodzanov was Director of the Real Sector Finance Directorate in the Ministry of Finance.
Between 1993 and 2014, he held different managerial positions, both in private and public sectors, including Chairman and Member of the Supervisory Board of the Bulgarian Development Bank.
Mr Porodzanov holds a MA degree in Agrarian Business, Economics and Management and a MA degree in Defence Industry, Economics and Management from the University of National and World Economy in Sofia.
