Human activity has wiped out 68% of wildlife population since 1970 (World Wildlife Fund) and a million species of plants and animals are facing extinction. Is it already too late?

On Thursday 22 October, from 14:00 to 16:30 (CEST), the 6th edition of the October Days for Sustainable Development will focus on “Biodiversity loss and the pandemic emergency: Reverse the trend and build a secure and sustainable future.”

The conference will be streamed live and Carole Dieschbourg, Luxembourg's Minister of the Environment, Climate and Sustainable Development will deliver a welcome speech. For information on the other speakers, please check our programme.

    About the October Days

The October Days for Sustainable Development have been organised every year since 2015 by the EIB Institute, the University of Luxembourg and other partners, and contribute to the global debate on the UN Sustainable Development Goals by enhancing dialogue among stakeholders. This year, the conference is co-organised with CARITAS Luxembourg and with the support of WWF and Fonds National de la Recherche Luxembourg.

The conference is a partner event of the EU Green Week, which will take place on 19-22 October 2020 on the theme of nature and biodiversity.
