EIB Conference on “Changing markets for FDI” Prague, 10 June 2004

The European Investment Bank is bringing together Czech and foreign business leaders, stakeholders from politics, banking sector and research to discuss changing markets for foreign direct investment at an EIB conference in Prague. The event enables participants and constituents to discuss key issues and trends of European concern sharing first-hand information and insights.

The conference on Changing Markets for FDI - Research, Development and Innovation in the Czech Republic on 10 June 2004 will assess investment needs and opportunities in industry and in Research and Development that will contribute to the competitiveness of the new EU member states both within in the EU and in the global market.

Informal sessions will also allow participants to exchange information and generate ideas, opinions and initiatives about Europe's new member countries' needs and perspectives with a special focus on the R&D sector in the Czech Republic.

The conference will be honored with the participation of Zdenek Hrubý, Deputy Minister of Finance, Miroslav Janecek, Deputy Chairman of the Research and Development Council, Martin Jahn, Chief Executive Officer, CzechInvest. Further speakers representing the banking and business community include Patrick Daems, Board Member of CSOB, Pavel Kafka, Country Manager for Siemens and Jean-Christophe de Munain, Director of International Affairs, Alcatel, France.

Czechia: €100 million EIB loan to MONETA Money Bank will support small and medium-sized businesses

A €100 million (CZK 2.5bn) European Investment Bank (EIB) loan to MONETA will increase economic opportunities for small and mid-sized businesses in Czechia. At least 12% of the loan will be allocated to projects with a positive impact on the climate or the environment. In addition, MONETA has committed to doubling this allocation: it will offer over CZK 700 million to entrepreneurs and small businesses to finance their sustainable business projects in the near future.

Czechia: EIB Group financing of €1.88 billion in 2023 helps the country to grow greener, better connected and more competitive

The European Investment Bank Group (EIB Group) — made up of the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the European Investment Fund (EIF) — invested €1.88 billion in the Czech Republic in 2023. The financing will support regional development and boost economic resilience while also making the country greener and improving the quality of life for its people.

InvestEU Advisory Hub: EIB and Czech Ministries of Finance and Regional Development agree on advisory support for affordable rental housing

The Advisory Services of the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the Czech Ministries of Finance and Regional Development will work together to support the development of the affordable housing sector in Czechia. Under an agreement announced in Prague today, EIB Advisory will help the Czech government to formulate a strategic framework for the sector. It will also look into options that can boost investments in rental housing projects. The assignment is funded by the InvestEU Advisory Hub.
