Description
The project forms part of Paneuropean Corridor X, which is of high importance for both the Republic of Croatia and the European Community and relates to a section which is still not operating normally (particularly signalling) as a result of damage caused during the war
Objectives
This double track railway section is subject to rehabilitation between Vinkovci and Tovarnik/state border with Serbia, along a route length of ca. 33 km, which would enable to restore normal operation of local and international trains.

Environmental aspects
The project has been subject to an EIA including public consultation, in line with EU Directive 85/337/EC as amended by Directive 97/11/EC and Directive 2003/35/EC. Full details will be checked at appraisal stage.
Procurement
Procurement for all services and works for the Project must be organised and tendered according to the principles of EU Directives on Procurement (2004/17EC and 2004/18EC) and with EIB’s Guide to Procurement. All the details will be checked at appraisal stage.
