    Promoter – Financial Intermediary

    Principado De Asturias (PDA) through the Consejería de Salud y Servicios Sanitarios, the provider of health services in the Asturias region.
    Beneficiaries: Gestion De Infraestructuras Sanitarias Del Principado De Asturias, S.A. (GISPASA), a special purpose vehicle 100% owned by the Principado de Asturias (PDA). GISPASA was created in April 2004 to perform activities related to the provisioning of infrastructures, equipment and services in the health sector for the PDA.

    Description

    Construction and operation by GISPASA of a new general hospital (the Nuevo Hospital Vital Alvarez Buylla de Mieres) and seven health day-care centres in the area of Mieres, central Asturias, Spain.

    Objectives

    The new hospital will replace older facilities (the old Hospital Vital Alvarez Buylla) in Mieres and it will have some 180 conventional beds. The health day-care Centers will be located in the neighbouring areas of Mieres (Mieres-Sur, Mieres-Norte, Caborana, Felechosa, Pola de Lena, La Cuadriella-Turón and Collanzo), in central Asturias.

    Environmental aspects

    Where required, the promoter is expected to respect the norms imposed by the EU Directive 97/11/EC. In accordance with its normal procedure, the Bank will ensure that appropriate measures have been defined as regards environmental protection.

    Procurement

    The promoter is required to respect the EU directives as regards invitations to tender.
