Investment in the class B shares issued by the Luxembourg Microfinance and Development Fund - Social Venture Capital sub fund, a specialised microfinance investment vehicle targeting tier-2 microfinance institutions in developing countries, with a view of expanding its portfolio in the ACP region.
The project has the objective to contribute to the alleviation of poverty in developing countries through the provision of permanent and adapted financial services to marginalised communities and individuals. In order to achieve this goal, LMDF invests in promising microfinance institutions (MFIs) with strong social mission in Africa, Asia and Latin America. For this purposed LMDF mainly invests in Tier-2 MFIs.
