    Objectives

    This is an operation to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) and mid-caps in Slovakia as a response to COVID-19. EIB will guarantee the mezzanine tranche of a synthetic securitisation of a portfolio of SME loans originated by Slovenska Sporitelna (SLSP) to mitigate the negative economic effects of COVID-19.

    Through this financial operation, the EIB will guarantee the mezzanine tranche of a synthetic securitisation of a loan portfolio originated by SLOVENSKA SPORITEL'NA AS (SLSP). The aim is to enhance access to finance for SMEs and mid-caps in Slovakia to mitigate the negative economic effects of COVID-19.

    In line with EIB policy, which has to ensure that sub-loans comply with the EU legislation, Slovenska Sporitelna will have to take all measures to ensure that the environment and procurement procedures carried out by benefiting SMEs and mid-caps will comply with the relevant national and EU environment and procurement legislation.
