Description
Objectives

The project involves the construction of a new Campus for the University of Applied Sciences in Vienna to replace the existing facilities currently scattered across the city on eight different sites.

It is foreseen to double the existing capacity on the new site to up to 4 000 students.

Environmental aspects
Procurement

Universities are not specifically mentioned in the EIA Directive on Environmental Impact Assessment, though the project is covered by Annex II of the Directive in relation to urban development. The Bank’s services will verify during appraisal the EIA screening decision of the Competent Authority.

The Bank will require the promoter to ensure that all relevant contracts for the implementation of the project have been or shall be tendered in accordance with the relevant EU procurement legislation. The detailed procurement issues will be studied during appraisal.
