Ioana-Maria Petrescu, new Governor for Romania

Following recent changes within the government, Ms Ioana-Maria Petrescu, Minister of Public Finance since March 2014, has been appointed as EIB Governor for Romania, succeeding Mr Liviu Voinea.
Between September 2013 and March 2014, Ms Petrescu served as Economic Adviser to the Prime Minister.
Since September 2013, she is on leave from the University of Maryland, College Park - School of Public Policy, where she is an Assistant Professor since August 2010. Between August 2012 and July 2013, Ms Petrescu was Director for International Development Specialization in the same university.
From August 2008 to August 2010, Ms Petrescu was a National Review Institute Fellow at the American Enterprise Institute.
Since August 2010 Ms Petrescu is also an Adjunct Scholar at the American Enterprise Institute.
Ms Petrescu holds a M.A. and a Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University.
