Tokom 2024. godine EIB Global, investicioni ogranak Banke namenjen investiranju u zemljama i regionima izvan Evropske unije, ugovorio je 693 miliona evra (527 miliona evra u kreditima i 166 miliona evra u bespovratnim sredstvima) za Zapadni Balkan, podržavajući održivi transport, čistu energiju, klimatsko delovanje, modernizaciju škola i bolji pristup povoljnom finansiranju za mala i srednja preduzeća (MSP). Pored održivog transporta, koji već tradicionalno ima najveći udeo u ukupnom obimu finansiranja EIB u regionu, projekti u oblasti čiste energije činili su 31% finansiranja 2024. godine, dostigavši rekordnih 213 miliona evra. Za podršku klimatskom delovanju i održivosti životne sredine opredeljeno je 77% ukupnog finansiranja.
