U 2024. godini EIB Global – investicijski ogranak banke posvećen zemljama i regijama izvan Evropske unije – odobrio je 693 miliona EUR (527 miliona EUR u kreditima i 166 miliona EUR u bespovratnim sredstvima) u korist Zapadnog Balkana, čime je osigurao podršku za održivi transport, čistu energiju, klimatske aktivnosti, modernizaciju škola te bolji pristup povoljnom finansiranju za mala i srednja preduzeća (MSP-ove). Uz održivi transport, koji je kao i dosad činio najveći udio u obimu EIB-ovih kredita u regiji, projekti čiste energije sačinjavali su 31% ukupnog finansiranja u 2024. godini, pri čemu su dostigli rekordnu vrijednost od 213 miliona EUR. 77% ukupnog investiranog iznosa izdvojeno je za podršku klimatskim aktivnostima i okolišnoj održivosti.
