The EIB Group at the 2024 World Bank Group-IMF Spring Meetings
As a leader in development finance, the EIB Group is participating in the 2024 World Bank Group-IMF Spring Meetings.
As part of a series of events organised to debate current trends in investment and investment finance at the national level in EU Member States, the EIB co-organised a half-day conference on “Investment and competitiveness in Italy” with the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance.
Understanding the drivers behind investment dynamics is key to defining appropriate policies. In this context, the EIB has launched a new initiative – the annual EIB Investment Survey (EIBIS), which collects qualitative and quantitative data from 12 500 SMEs and larger non-financial companies in all 28 EU member states. The data covers information on firm characteristics and performance, past investment activities and future plans, sources of finance, and challenges that businesses face.
Beyond the presentation of these findings for Europe and Italy, the event enabled a broader debate on investment needs and financing opportunities for corporates. It was attended by economists, policymakers, and representatives from financial institutions and the business community.
The EIB Investment Survey helps the EIB address the needs of businesses across all 28 EU Member States.
