The International Public Sector bears much responsibility to set the agenda and lead the way on gender parity. Much work remains to be done across the sector, particularly in recruiting women from the underrepresented geographies and empowering women into senior staff categories throughout International Organisations.
There is a general acceptance that recycling female staff around the sector won’t advance gender parity goals alone. If gender parity is to be realised in our lifetimes, women will need to enter the profession at all levels and recruiters will need to respond by engaging more actively with female applicants.
Leaders from member states and institutions themselves are urging organisations to advance their efforts to adequately reflect the diverse communities and geographies they serve.
