• Terms and conditions are now available on the EIB website
  • Loan amount ranging from EUR 7.5m to EUR 50m aimed at supporting SMEs, mid-caps and agri-cooperatives

Following the launch of the new programme loan for agriculture and bioeconomy on 16 April 2018, the European Investment Bank (EIB) published today the factsheet gathering all its terms and conditions, eligibility criteria and benefits.

This new financing initiative, guaranteed by the Juncker Plan's European Fund for Strategic Investments, targets investments by private cooperatives and companies in the agriculture and bioeconomy sector, whose eligibility criteria are detailed in the factsheet.

The EIB financing will amount to EUR 400m and is expected to back close to EUR 1bn of investment across Europe. The lending programme constitutes an initial, replicable EIB pilot that will enable direct lending for private sector investments (from EUR 15m to EUR 200m) with a loan amount ranging from EUR 7.5m to EUR 50m. Projects allocated under the programme loan will be implemented in the period 2018-2022.

Targeted investments will seek to promote the efficient and sustainable use of resources and the re-use of by-products, and to develop intellectual property through the support of private sector research, development and innovation.
