O FFUEAI, que comemora este ano o seu décimo aniversário, tem por objetivo promover investimentos em infraestruturas regionais na África Subsariana através de várias formas de subvenções, que são combinadas com investimentos a longo prazo concedidos por determinadas instituições de financiamento do desenvolvimento.O FFUEAI contribui deste modo para a mobilização de financiamento adicional para projetos, aumentando assim o acesso aos serviços de energia, transportes, água e comunicações.
