On Thursday 27th and Friday 28th September 2007, the European Investment Bank will hold its annual Forum in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The topic "Investing in energy, mastering climate change" addresses a key issue - Europe's new energy policy and diversification of energy supply.
The conference will tackle concerns on the supply side, examining the full spectrum of energy sources from fossil and nuclear to renewable energy. Special attention will be paid to renewables and their economic viability, as well as energy efficiency. The Forum will then take a look on the consumer side, featuring expert speakers from world players such as Arcelor Mittal, Toyota, BASF and Philips. The event also aims to identify the specific measures required to increase the financial flows from public and private sources in order to make the move to a lower carbon economy.
