The European Investment Bank (EIB) will lend CZK 1.2 billion (approx. EUR 45 million) to the Pardubice Region to finance regional infrastructure projects in the period of 2013 – 2018. The EIB loan will contribute to the increase of quality of life of citizens in this region and strengthen its competitiveness. The projects to be implemented will be also supported by EU Structural and Cohesion Funds.

The EIB loan, provided on favourable terms directly to the Pardubice Region, will support investments in the areas of transport (e.g. road rehabilitation), public infrastructure (bridge renovations) and services: education and health (school and hospital modernisation) and social care (building rehabilitation). EIB funds will also finance implementation of investments related to energy savings in schools and hospitals, environmental improvements as well as projects preserving cultural heritage and contributing to the development of tourism.

This is the third EIB loan granted to the Pardubice Region bringing the total EIB lending commitment to this region to some EUR 120 million.
