The European Investment Bank (EIB) and the Kyrgyz Republic have concluded the Framework Agreement under which the Bank can start to provide financing support to investment projects in Kyrgyzstan. The agreement has been signed today by Wilhelm Molterer, EIB Vice-President, and Djoomart Otorbaev, Kyrgyzstan’s First Deputy Prime Minister.

The EIB finances investment projects in the countries which have co-operation agreements with the European Union. The Kyrgyz Republic is the third country after Kazakhstan and Tajikistan from the region of the Central Asian post-Soviet Republics that has signed a framework agreement with the EIB.
