European Microfinance Week is the major annual event of the microfinance industry, bringing together banks and financial institutions, government agencies, NGOs, consultancy firms, researchers and universities for high level and in-depth discussions. This year, the theme is “Developing Better Markets”.
The event is organised by the European Microfinance Platform (e-MFP) and supported by the Luxembourg Government. The EIB is a sponsor of the event and, as well as participating in some discussions, is hosting the 5th European Microfinance Award ceremony at its headquarters on Thursday 13 November. The award recognises microfinance and the environment, through raising awareness of environmental issues and dealing with these in innovative ways.
European Microfinance Week will feature several plenaries and over 20 other discussions on topics relevant to the theme, and to those working in microfinance, as well as ample networking opportunities.
