This year will see the 18th Africa Energy Forum take place, focusing on global investment for Africa’s power, energy, infrastructure and industrial sectors.

The forum acts as a central meeting point for African and European developers and investors to build relationships with governments, utilities and regulators from across the African continent.

Over the three days participants will have the chance to meet industry decision makers, examine major challenges and discuss business development all working towards making significant developments in Africa’s power sector.

The event goes beyond traditional perceptions of energy production and distribution, and gives a wider angle, looking at the role played by energy in the empowerment of female entrepreneurs, the impact of the Paris Agreement on investment and the benefits and opportunities brought about by regional power pools, amongst many other topics.

The EIB is a sponsor of the Africa Energy Forum, and is hosting a seminar entitled “Scaling the Project Pipeline” on Friday 24 June at 10am. This will be moderated by Monique Koning, the Bank’s Director of Operations Support.
