In Argentina’s Jujuy region, a new project is bringing new economic opportunities for women. This project, part of the Province’s Jujuy Verde Initiative, also aims to manage waste sustainably and cut greenhouse gases.
Financed by the European Investment Bank and its partners, the Latin America Investment Facility and the Government of the Province of Jujuy, this project seeks to:
- Empower women to make a better life for themselves and their families
- Create decent jobs for women
- Improve women's working conditions
- Set up an integrated waste management programme

About the Latin America Investment Facility
The Latin America Investment Facility (LAIF) finances key projects in Latin America with a view to supporting sustainable and inclusive development in the region. The facility targets projects that improve infrastructure, increase environmental protection and provide support to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The LAIF uses EU development funding to leverage additional investment from development finance institutions, local governments and the private sector.
