The EIB has worked with Austria since 1973. We financed large infrastructure, sustainable transport and renewable energy. One key example of our work is the small town of Bruck an der Leitha, southeast of Vienna, where farmers grow their own energy. We financed new ways to treat cancer, including a rare type that affects children. We worked closely with AVL, a company developing new technology for electric vehicles.
