The European Development Days (EDD), organised by the European Commission, bring the development community together each year to share ideas and experiences in ways that inspire new partnerships and innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges.
The EDD 2019 will focus on "Addressing inequalities: building a world which leaves no one behind” with a full programme based on three major themes:
- Why inequalities matter for sustainable development
- Understanding the structural causes of inequalities
- Working better together through more effective policies to address inequalities
The European Investment Bank is participating in the EDD 2019 as we increased our development cooperation with the EU, bringing a joined-up and responsive EU engagement in countries where the needs are greatest.
Come and join us at the EIB stand 94 in the EDD Global village where we share our stories with the audience, showing how our investments are creating opportunities for entrepreneurs, rural communities, women and the youth.
Meet the bank’s experts in development, join our lab debates with inspiring and passionate professionals and learn how the EIB and its partners can contribute to shape a sustainable and inclusive living for all.

At the stand we will showcase four projects made possible by deepening partnerships between the EU and its bank, the EIB, resulting in impactful actions on the ground to tackle inequality across the globe:

Sustained partnerships between international Donors and the EIB are improving people’s lives, contributing to the UN Sustainable Development Goals and advancing the international development objectives of the European Union.
This e-book compilation contains the EIB’s latest reports, studies and stories as well as documents about the UNIDO Roadmap for the implementation of IDDA3.
For 25 years, the European Investment Bank has supported economic development in Asia and the Pacific region.
Guided by EU policy, including commitments to the Paris Agreement on Climate Action and to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the EIB Group fosters sustainable growth within the EU and abroad. This approach drives all of our initiatives, products and activities.
Donor partnerships enable us to tackle global challenges together and make a lasting difference in developing countries. Partnerships help bridge financing gaps and ensure that projects with insufficient investment receive additional support.
The EIB invests in a wide range of projects in sub-Saharan Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific and the Overseas Countries and Territories, from providing the financial support to allow microfinance institutions to lend small amounts to microenterprises and innovators, up to large infrastructure projects.
