Part of the series :
The innovation system represents all the institutions that influence the creation and diffusion of new technologies within an economy, and improving it is an important objective for national policymakers. This paper examines the Austrian innovation system and how it compares internationally. It describes current policies and instruments to address strengths and weaknesses in the system, such as funding agencies, research centres and tax policy. It then draws on EIB Investment Survey results to examine different innovation profiles of firms in Austria.
