Le président Hoyer parle de la croissance à la réunion du FMI et de la Banque mondiale

Lors de la séance annuelle du Conseil des gouverneurs de la BEI tenue le 15 mai, le président de la Banque, Werner Hoyer, a mis en avant le rôle important joué par cette institution dans la promotion de la croissance durable, de l’innovation et de l’emploi en Europe et au-delà. En 2011, la contribution financière de la BEI à l’économie réelle a atteint un niveau record, avec 60 milliards d’EUR décaissés en faveur des clients de la Banque. À la fin de l’année dernière, l’encours des prêts de la BEI s’élevait à près de 395 milliards d’EUR, soit un montant supérieur à l’encours cumulé des prêts de l’ensemble des autres institutions de financement multilatérales.

The European Investment Bank (EIB Global) has appointed Damien Sorrell as its new Head of the Regional Hub for the Western Balkans. He succeeds Alessandro Bragonzi, who will continue his career at the Bank’s headquarters. Through this new leadership, and alongside its partners, the Bank will remain committed to supporting the transition to a low-carbon economy, fostering alignment with EU standards and driving economic growth in the Western Balkans.

The European Investment Bank (EIB) is providing over €60 million in EU guarantee-backed loans to strengthen critical infrastructure in Ukraine, as part of its Ukraine Solidarity Urgent Response package, developed in close cooperation with the European Commission. This support includes the reconstruction of a key segment of the M01 highway and the renewal of urban public transport in the cities of Kyiv, Odesa and Sumy. This EIB investment underscores the unwavering commitment of the European Union to Ukraine’s recovery, delivering vital support for infrastructure resilience and efficiency amid ongoing challenges.
