TechEU platform | What we offer

The EIB Group, consisting of the European Investment Bank and the European Investment Fund (EIF), offers funding support backed by TechEU to suit the different capital needs of companies across their entire business cycle, boosting innovation from lab to market.

Financing types span across guaranteed loans, direct investments or intermediated investments through selected fund managers. In addition, TechEU now allows institutional investors to commit additional resources to Europe’s best funds and businesses.

We offer tailored debt financing for scaleups and companies developing breakthrough technologies.Our financing covers both investment loans and project finance.

Guarantees

We offer a variety of guarantee instruments, covering risks of a single or several projects. We unlock additional financing for small businesses or mid-caps by covering a portion of possible losses.

ETCI 2.0

Are you an institutional investor such as pension fund, insurer, foundation, family office, bank, or national promotional institution? Join our pan-European initiative to scale Europe’s innovative, high-growth companies.

The European Tech Champions Initiative 2.0 combines an expanded fund-of-funds strategy with a dedicated investment platform for institutional investors, both anchored by the EIB Group and Member States.

The initiative will crowd in institutional investors, in addition to public resources from Member States and the EIB Group, making ETCI the largest funding instrument in Europe fully dedicated to scaling up innovative European companies to compete globally.

TechEU and the EIF

TechEU helps unlock finance for a whole range of European companies, from start-ups, growth companies and scale-ups to mature corporations.

At the EIF, we are leveraging our long-standing expertise and financial instruments to contribute to the successful implementation of TechEU. We are the EIB Group’s financing arm for small- and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) and mid-caps.

The EIF is also managing the European Tech Champions Initiative (ETCI) – now in its second generation and fundraising under ETCI 2.0 – which forms part of TechEU and is complemented by the Investment Platform.
