    Description
    Objectives

    The proposed project comprises pavement rehabilitation of about 1,200 km on 55 sections.

    Road rehabilitation represents a key component of the country’s programme aimed at improving the national transport network, which is expected to facilitate industrial investments and foster development of economic and social activities in the country.

    Environmental aspects
    Procurement

    Being a rehabilitation project along existing alignments the impact on environment should be limited. The EIA requirements will be established during appraisal including the proposed steps for monitoring environmental impacts during construction and operation as well as any issues related to nature conservation areas.

    Procurement procedures will be on the basis of international competitive bidding in line with the Bank’s guidelines.
