Description
The project consists of the rehabilitation and upgrade of road infrastructure. The project forms part of the Regional Road Master Plan for 2002-2007.

The project will include the rehabilitation and upgrade of several road sections across the region, improving the efficient use and connectivity of the local road network.

Environmental aspects
All sub-projects financed under the proposed loan will be required to comply with the relevant national legal framework, to be acceptable in environmental terms to EIB and in line with EU environmental policy.
Procurement
The Bank will require the Promoter to ensure that contracts for the implementation of the project have been/shall be tendered in accordance with the relevant applicable EU procurement legislation (Dir 2004/18/EC or 2004/17/EC), with parallel publication of tender notices in the EU Official Journal, as and where appropriate.
