    Promoter – Financial Intermediary

    Thüringer Aufbaubank (TAB). The final beneficiaries will be public or private investors promoting eligible small and medium sized projects.

    Description

    Projects of limited size promoting environmental protection, rational use of energy, improvement of infrastructure (including health, education and social housing in well defined urban schemes), and eligible projects by SMEs, all in Obj. 1 assisted areas. The GL facility may also be used for projects of limited scale in the fields of Research and Development (R&D, i2i).

    Objectives

    The proposed global loan will finance small and medium-scale projects in the fields of improvement of infrastructure, environmental protection, energy saving, health and education as well as housing, the support of which is in line with both national and Community objectives.

    Environmental aspects

    Compliance with EU directives and national legislation and guidelines (e.g. on EIA, etc.) is made a condition and to be confirmed/verified by TAB for each allocation under the Global Loan.

    Procurement

    TAB will verify that the final beneficiaries comply with national and EU regulations relating to public procurement. All eligible projects will have to respect the rules and conditions on procurement set out in the side-letters provided to this effect, in line with European and national legislation.
