    Promoter – Financial Intermediary

    Ministère de la Santé Publique.

    Location

    Description

The works financed by the EIB will consist primarily of repairing, extending, constructing and upgrading more than 30 public health care centres throughout the country.

    Objectives

The project concerns priority investment schemes in support of the country's public health sector and forms part of Tunisia's Tenth National Economic and Social Development Plan (2002-2006). Remaining investment schemes initially scheduled under the Ninth Plan are also envisaged. The project will contribute to adapting the Tunisian health system to the country's epidemiological and demographic trends. Strengthening of the country's human capital will also foster private-sector development and the project thus ties in with the objectives of the Bank's FEMIP facility.

    Environmental aspects
