One World Media unveils the long list of selected stories for its awards, including EIB’s sponsored ‘Women entrepreneurs reporting’ award

Selected from a record-breaking 500+ entries across 96 countries, One World Media, announced the longlists in all its 15 awards categories. From Myanmar to Mexico, Burundi to Bangladesh, the quality and diversity of the entries this year was outstanding.
Just like the Oscars, but for underreported stories, this week the EIB entered the heady world of global film-making awards to celebrate the power of female entrepreneurship to change lives and revitalise communities in the global south.
A report on how a group of women in Senegal are rescuing their villages from desertification and the effects of climate change has won the first ever EIB-supported Women Entrepreneurship Reporting Award.

The 2019 edition of the Migration Media Award, funded by the European Union, will reward constructive journalism, reflected through human interest and analytical stories, resulting from time-intensive, un-sensationalistic, in-depth reporting and contributing to balance the narrative on migration, making it more evidence based, nuanced and less polarising.
