The European Investment Bank and the National Bank of Romania hosted the "Transforming for Competitiveness" conference.
The conference focused on Romania’s investment needs and priorities to increase competitiveness in a challenging period of repeated shocks and financial tightening. It brought together a group of economists and representatives from financial institutions and the business community.
The conference presented the results of the EIB Investment Survey for Romania, followed by a high-level panel discussion on Romania’s competitiveness through innovation.
A panel discussion was composed of representatives of the EIB Group, local financial institutions, business community and public institutions in Romania. The discussions focused on the challenges Romanian companies face in their investment activities, such as innovation, green transition, sources of finance, and the global value chain. The panellists also explored what can be done to support the private sector in improving its competitiveness.
