This conference is organised in the context of the Platform on Migration and Forced Displacement, established by the Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs) to advance strategic dialogue and operational coordination on these emerging global challenges. Many of the policy issues and economic opportunities of migration arise at the local level, affecting the communities that are hosting migrants. Policies to integrate migrants into the urban, social and economic fabric of host cities are essential to address the short- medium, and long-term challenges presented by migration.

This seminar will focus on the many opportunities that migration unlocks for the cultural and economic development of cities, as well as on innovative solutions to challenges arising from human displacement. The goal is to deliver an inspiring agenda, offering solutions, ideas and areas of work to help build a path towards a more inclusive integration.

Vice-President Emma Navaro will be representing the EIB in the panel "Emerging Challenges and Opportunities of the Migration-Development Nexus".
