In the context of the World Bank/IMF Annual Meetings, EIB President Werner Hoyer is taking part in the Joint IFI Action Plan Briefing on Saturday, 12 October.
The World Bank Group (WBG), European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and EIB came together in November 2012 for a new “Joint International Financial Institution (IFI) Action Plan” to stimulate growth in Central and South Eastern Europe (CSEE).
Developed within the context of the Vienna Initiative, the plan supports growth in the region through private and public sector initiatives, including infrastructure, corporate investment and the financial sector.
WBG Vice President for Europe and Central Asia Laura Tuck and EBRD President Suma Chakrabarti will join Werner Hoyer for an update on how the institutions are well on their way to meeting the target of over EUR 30bn of commitments in CSEE for the period of 2013-2014 of which EUR 20 billion are coming from the EIB.
