The European Investment Bank (EIB) hosted an interactive seminar to present the private and public sector investment opportunities offered by the Agri-Food Value Chain Project Launch Event and its extensive offer to companies, financial institutions and public sector entities active in selected agri-food value chains of cereals, oilseeds and aquaculture/fisheries in Ukraine.

The agri-food sector is a key driver of growth and employment in Ukraine and retains significant potential for further development on domestic and export markets. Supporting Access to Finance for SMEs and Mid-sized companies is a priority for the EIB Group. With the support of the European Union as well as the Eastern Partnership Technical Assistance Trust Fund (EPTATF) and its donors, the EIB Group is stepping up its efforts to improve access to finance and build capacity in order to support sustainable and inclusive growth in Ukraine.

The launch event took place on 28 November 2019 in Kyiv.

Key speakers at this event included high-level representatives of the Ukrainian Government, the EU, the EIB and the United Kingdom, as a donor to EPTATF. Presentations and Q&A sessions on EIB activities in Ukraine will follow, with a focus on the latest initiatives in support to improved access to finance for local SMEs and Mid-sized companies. A networking reception followed.
