    The United Nations Climate Change Conference took place at the Bella Center in Copenhagen, Denmark, between December 7th and December 18th , 2009. The conference included the 15th Conference of the Parties (COP 15) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and the 5th Meeting of the Parties (COP/MOP 5) to the Kyoto Protocol. According to the Bali Road Map, a framework for climate change mitigation beyond 2012 was to be agreed there.

    The EIB organised and participated in a number of events organised in the framework of COP 15 and at the fringes of the Conference. In particular, the EIB organised an event on the issues of adaptation to climate change in cooperation with the European Commission and other major financial institutions on December 16th. The Bank also actively participated in a Multilateral Development Banks day on December 10th. The Bank was also present with a stand (H024D) during the second week of COP 15 to promote its climate change related activities.
