The UK government has formally notified its intention to leave the European Union on 29 March 2017. The European Council has made a statement and its President Donald Tusk has announced he will submit draft guidelines to the members of the European Council shortly. The European Commission has published a Q&A document that helps explain the procedure of the negotiations.
