    Objectives

    Two biofuel plants using sugar syrup (annual capacity of 70 million litres) and wheat (significant scale) as feedstock.

    The project supports the UK and the EU energy and climate change policy through developing capacity to produce biofuels.

    Procurement

    Alcohol production is included in Annex II of the EIA Directive. An EIA has been requested and successfully carried out for the Wissington plant. An EIA for the second plant is under preparation and will be reviewed by EIB once completed.

    Private promoter who is not subject to the Procurement Directives. The procurement will follow procedures applied in the industry.
