Objectives

The project concerns a guarantee operation under the Structured Finance Facility in the KfW SME-focused programme "Unternehmerkapital - Kapital für Arbeit und Investitionen".

By the risk-sharing component the EIB would offer a particular value added by increasing the banking sector's capacity to take risk in "mature" mid-cap/SME sector, where due to the higher level of business risk, the availability of bank loans at favourable conditions under Basle II becomes increasingly difficult.
