        Description
        Objectives

        The project investment programme concerns the development of some small to medium-sized commercial outlets and includes a new distribution centre.

        The project will contribute to modernise the Italian and Maltese distribution chains. Consumers are expected to benefit from an increased efficiency and a more diversified offer.

        Environmental aspects
        Procurement

        The project (small commercial outlets and a logistic centre) does not fall under the EC Directive 97/11 on environmental impact assessment nor under Italian and Maltese legislations. However, during the evaluation process the environmental studies required to obtain the building permits will be analysed.

        The promoter is a private company to which EU Directives on procurement do not apply. The procurement will follow procedures usually applied in private sector projects.
