En 2023, la Banque européenne d’investissement a signé des financements pour un montant total de 75,14 milliards d’EUR. La branche de la BEI dédiée aux partenariats mondiaux, BEI Monde, a signé de nouveaux prêts représentant 8,44 milliards d’EUR.
Près de la moitié des prêts de la BEI dans l’Union européenne ont été signés en faveur de projets mis en œuvre dans des régions de la cohésion. Au total, 49,04 milliards d’EUR des prêts de la BEI, ont été signés pour des projets soutenant l’action pour le climat et la durabilité environnementale.

Chronology of the EIB
The EIB is the European Union's bank. We are the only bank owned by and representing the interests of the European Union Member States. We work closely with other EU institutions to implement EU policy. We are the world’s largest multilateral borrower and lender. We provide finance and expertise for sustainable investment projects that contribute to EU policy objectives. More than 90% of our activity is in Europe. But we also are a big investor around the world.
EIB Buildings: history and architecture
Founded in 1958 by the Treaty of Rome, the EIB was first located in Brussels (Belgium). In 1968, the EIB moved to Luxembourg and established its first headquarters in the Place de Metz. Then, in 1980, the EIB moved to its current location in Kirchberg.
