Promoter – Financial Intermediary
ACCEPTABLE BANK(S)Location
Description
Dedicated EIB loan for SMEs (and Mid-Caps) to finance small and medium-sized projects in the EU, to be intermediated by acceptable financial institutions such as banks, leasing companies, public support institutions or any other qualifying counterparts.
Objectives
Due to the large share of SMEs in the overall economy and their contribution to employment, the issue of access to finance for this segment remains at the core of the economic recovery of most Member States. The objective of the EU Programme Loan is to reach out to final beneficiaries effectively and rapidly, in line with the Bank's and the EU's key priority of supporting SMEs. The Bank's Loan for SMEs product remains an important vehicle to facilitate not only improved conditions of and enhancing access to finance for SMEs but also to address important market failures, for example in the area of youth employment.
