    Description
    Objectives

    The project relates to the construction of two additional tracks on the Priority TEN mainline railway between Vienna and St. Pölten (Westbahn). The total length of this four-track railway line section is 44km, including the 13km Wienerwaldtunnel and additional 6 shorter tunnels.

    The project will add capacity, operational flexibility and thus reliability, allow faster train operation and improve comfort.

    The project would fall under Annex I of EU Directive 97/11/CE. Compliance with the respective requirements will be verified during appraisal.
