        Objectives

        Development of a medium scale diamond mine with 5 separate open pits and construction and operation of an ore processing plant.

        Employment creation and human resource development in an underdeveloped, poorer rural region of the country.

        Procurement

        Two independent environmental impact studies, both compliant with EU Directive 97/11, have been established in 2005 and mitigating and/or compensation measures will be applied as necessary.

        Tendering complies with the EIB's guidelines.
